Fans of legendary folk icons THE KINGSTON TRIO can rediscover their timeless music all over again. 

All three current members—Mike Marvin, Tim Gorelangton, and Paul Robinson—have intrinsic links to and experience with the original group. Mike is the adopted son of founding member Nick Reynolds, who was also his musical mentor. Tim, a close friend since boyhood, is one of the few musicians outside the Trio who has recorded with Nick Reynolds.

Paul Robinson has toured internationally as lead guitarist with folk-swing pioneer Dan Hicks, who was discovered by original Kingston Trio founder Nick Reynolds. He has also performed and recorded with The Original Sons (Sons of the Kingston Trio), among others, bringing a deep and personal connection to the Trio’s enduring legacy.

The Kingston Trio was one of the most prominent groups of the pop-folk boom that began in 1958 with the release of their debut album and the hit single “Tom Dooley,” which sold more than three million copies. Cited as an influence by artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and The Eagles, as well as Steve Martin, Mumford & Sons, and The Avett Brothers, The Kingston Trio holds a unique and preeminent place in American musical history.

The Trio released 19 albums that reached Billboard’s Top 100, including 14 in the Top 10 and five that soared to No. 1. In an extraordinary moment in music history, four of their LPs were simultaneously ranked among Billboard’s 10 best-selling albums for five consecutive weeks in November and December 1959—a record that stood unmatched for more than 50 years. Their legacy continues to endure, with the group still ranking on Billboard’s all-time charts for most weeks with a No. 1 album, most total weeks charting, most No. 1 albums, most consecutive No. 1 albums, and most Top 10 albums.
