John-Alex Mason (6:00PM): John-Alex Mason attributes his love of music to two central people from his childhood in Colorado. First, his older brother, Stephen, who rocked out to music of the 60’s and 70’s - Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix and the Allman Brothers Band. And second, his godmother, Viola Marigna, who introduced him to Baptist moans and gospel through her own voice, mass choir concerts and church performances. “I remember the exact moment Stephen played Led Zeppelin II for me and how powerful the smell of heavy perfume and anticipation was at Viola’s church,” says Mason. It was not long before Mason discovered blues music and the bridge between praising and rocking.

Since then Mason has performed with BB King, James Cotton, John Mayall, Jimmie Vaughan, The Yardbirds, John Hammond, Robben Ford, Bob Margolin, Kelly Joe Phelps, Joan Osborne, Otis Taylor, Carolyn Wonderland, Will Hoge, Rose Hill Drive, The White Buffalo, Shemekia Copeland, Johnny A., Bugs Henderson, and the man Mason calls “the King,” Robert Belfour.

Grant Sabin (6:45 PM): Grant Sabin is a slide guitar/harmonica/vocals/stomp box player from Colorado Springs Colorado. Many have said his style is comparable to that of John Hammond, Son House, and Tom Waits, but with a youthfull twist of energy seen more in rock and roll and thrash-grass bands. Grant put out a solo album in 2007 entitled Listen and Learn and later that year released a limited number of EPs called "The Smoke EP" with his first version of The Revelators featuring Andrew Koken on Bass and Lucian Rowland on the Mandolin. In 2008 Grant and Andrew recorded "Cold Day in Hell" with producers John Dehoyos and Phillip Rayl. After 3 failed attempts of accurately representing their live sound on an album Grant and Andrew tapped into new energy in Hans Schopen, a Heavy Metal drummer from Maui, Hawaii. They put Hans behind a 5 piece jazz kit and the result is what is now known as Grant Sabin and the Revelators. The group is now working on an experimental pseudo-live album with Ian Gott and Funny Bunny Records. Grant's trio is a force to be reckoned with; however his solo work which he is still very much devoted to seems to be coming back more frequently by popular demand.
